Champions of sustainability
Our eco-friendly ethos
We’re committed to ensuring our products not only look the part but are good for the environment as well.
From the raw materials we buy, to the production processes we use and the daily decisions we make, sustainability is engrained in our business.
Our deck boards are made from 95% recycled and sustainably-sourced raw materials.
Approximately 60% of the material in our boards is sustainably-sourced wood flour. This is FSC and PEFC certified, meaning it can be traced back to forests that are managed responsibly and sustainably.
Approximately 35% of the material in our boards is recycled HDPE polymer. This is recycled plastic from consumer waste, often recycled plastic milk bottles.
Together the wood flour and polymer pellets are combined in our manufacturing process and extruded to make wood polymer composite deck boards.
ISO 9001 and ISO 14001
We’re always looking for ways to improve what we do. We use the internationally recognised standards ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 to continuously better our internal environmental and quality management performance.
We’re regularly audited and utilise feedback to ensure we’re using resources efficiently and to demonstrate our commitment to quality.
Reducing our carbon footprint
We know that our products’ carbon footprint is becoming more important to companies and individuals alike.
We’re therefore always reviewing our production processes to understand how they impact the environment. That’s why we have our own production lines at our Scunthorpe plant which have achieved a ‘carbon negative’ status. We’re also currently working towards a Zero to Landfill policy.
By manufacturing and selling in the UK we’re also reducing our carbon footprint, as our goods have less distance to travel, reducing our reliance on international transportation.
