Makeover for AURA Skypool, Dubai by Solidek

Sunset Hospitality Group needed to replace the hollow composite decking used at the AURA Skypool, the world’s highest 360° infinity pool. This had quickly failed due to the extreme weather conditions 200 metres above sea level.

They wanted a product that would last much longer than their current decking. But equally as important was the need to install the decking out of operational hours, so the pool could remain open during the re-fit.

They chose Solidek, a capped, composite deck board manufactured by Ecodek for a number of reasons.

Firstly, our solid deck boards easily out live the hollow competition and come with a 25 year, UK warranty.

Secondly, our capped boards are much more resilient to fading and staining and much easier to clean and maintain.

And thirdly, we could manufacture the deck boards’ in the specific RAL colour chosen by the customer, to perfectly complement the AURA Skypool’s décor.

We only work with the best decking installers, and the Solidek team are no exception. Together we overcame transportation challenges bought about the the Red Sea shipping crisis and the Solidek team installed the new decking to a tight schedule.

By installing through the night, the pool venue was able to remain open during the day, with very little disruption to guests to the delight of the client.
