Locit Limited are manufacturers of Pure lockers and changing room equipment. Their mission is to design and build structurally strong, yet aesthetically beautiful locker room furniture that is manufactured in a sustainable and carbon neutral way.
When Locit required a material that could be used as hanger and bench slats for a new changing bench, they approached the Ecodek team.
Working together with the Locit team, we created a custom-made 24mm x 95mm plain wood composite lumber profile, specifically designed for use as hanger slats. We also repurposed our existing 88mm x 38mm Supastiff bearer, for the bench slats.
The wealth of advantages composite lumber offers over alternative materials, such as timber, was a huge draw for Locit. Composite is extremely durable, it doesn’t splinter like wood, and it’s easy to clean and maintain. This makes it the perfect material for high use pieces of equipment, such as changing room benches.
Sustainability is a leading principle for both Locit and Ecodek, and this initially made Ecodek an attractive OEM partner, with our profiles made from 95% recycled and sustainably sourced materials.
Locit also takes advantage of our Waste Buy-back Scheme, whereby cut offs are sent back to us to be recycled.
