Covid 19 update 5th January 2021
With the announcement by the government of the New National Lockdown, the guidance states that the manufacturing and construction sectors may continue to operate.

We are, therefore, pleased to confirm that we will be continuing to operate as a business, with appropriate Covid safety measures in place during this period to support our customers and the wider industry supply chain.

The health and safety of our customers, suppliers and employees remains our top priority so we will continue to monitor the situation over the coming weeks, but at this stage we see no reason to change our manufacturing, distribution or service activities.

We encourage all staff, customers and suppliers to fully observe all recommended safe operating procedures and, in particular, the wearing of masks, social distancing and regular hand washing.

St Ives Surf School, Cornwall

Situated on the stunning North coast of Cornwall on picturesque Porthmeor Beach right in the heart of this famous artists’ town is St Ives Surf School. The school offers tuition in surf, kayak, paddleboard and coasteering and is a surprising hive of activity all year round. We visited on a very cold, wet and windy day in April and the set up was in full swing even then despite the school informing all passers by that the morning’s conditions were “waist high crumbly little peelers“! They are hardy types these surfers!

Owner Harris Rothschild first contacted Ecodek back in January 2017 to discuss the use of ecodek® AT deckboards on the edge of the beach to house hire equipment. We supplied him with boards to create an expanded area to accomodate his growing number of customers. The area included a ramp and proved so popular that he decided to extend yet further in the Spring of 2018. The boards provide a slip resistant and low maintenance area in keeping with the natural surroundings. All in all, the appearance is of a very natural look. The grooved finish on the boards means that the boards can be easily swept clean of sand and seaweed to maintain the safe flooring surface.

We wish Harris well with his already successful business and look to forward to expanding the area of decking as his company goes from strength to strength.

The ecodek® material for this immense project is supplied through a Chain of Custody process that provides full traceability for all our products. The process records the entire path between the ‘forest gate’ and the end user, including the intermediate stages of manufacture, storage, sales and distribution. The Forest Stewardship Council® (FSC) helps take care of forests and the people and wildlife who call them home. FSC® is an international, non-governmental organisation dedicated to promoting responsible management of the World’s forests.
