Central London recently saw the dated 1980s office building 20 Old Bailey receive a huge modernisation and upgrade. Standing directly opposite the iconic law courts, the project was completed in just under 2 years, and saw the demolition taking place at the same time as construction given the short timeframe.
The existing building was bought by private equity giant Blackstone in 2013 who commissioned the extensive £59m project including extensive structural alterations and internal remodelling, renewal of the frontal elevation and two additional floors at roof level. The building now provides circa 240,000 square feet of high specification Cat A office accommodation.
ecodek® was specified for 5 stories of long balconies stretched around each floor and the expansive roof terrace, equating to 1100m2 of material!
