Welcoming New Faces to Ecodek
We enjoy an ever-expanding team here at Ecodek, with new skills and specialities being brought to the team with each new addition.
We have recently established two new roles within the company, and these have now been filled.
Michael Roberts – Design Technician
This new role is an amalgamation of previous posts, in line with the development of Ecodek as a business.
Michael joins us from Trelleborg Marine and Infrastructure, where he worked on CAD drawings and document compilation for ship to shore communication systems for the Liquified Natural Gas (LNG) industry. The systems monitored the loading and unloading of the LNG onto the tankers.
Michael says ‘Joining the ecodek team has opened up a huge opportunity for me to get into product development. I’m really looking forward to being able to bring a design from concept right through to production and into the commercial market. I’ve got a very hands on approach to design and am quite happy spending time on the factory floor learning about the product manufacturing process and the systems we offer.
Customer focus is key and producing something they are happy with is a big part of the product and CDM process.’
Michael has quite a diverse and exciting range of hobbies, including some serious running (ultra, road, 24 hour races), cycling (including being the first to complete the 176mile Cheshire Cycleway when it opened), he is a CAA approved drone operator, enjoys 3D printing and heading off in his motor-home. Oh, and he represented Wales in the 4x400m relay!
Lee Davis – Customer Services Technician
Like the previous role, this is a role born out of the company looking at how best to service our customers with technical queries or concerns. Lee, however, has a secret weapon up his sleeve… He is very, very experienced with ecodek®!
Lee has been with Ecodek for 11 years, working on the production lines perfecting the manufacture of the ecodek® material coming off the lines. While it may look like a slow and gentle process as the boards ‘stroll’ through production, it is a high precision process that requires in-depth technical knowledge of extrusion, material behaviour and an eye for detail.
Lee has been with Ecodek since the company moved to the second larger manufacturing facility when it outgrew the start-up factory so has seen the company grow. We are now located in a far bigger premises again, we just keep getting bigger and needing more space to fulfil the demand for our fantastic ecodek® products!
Lee says of his new role ‘I am looking forward to working with customers to address their technical and customer service queries, as well as building new show pieces and trialling new ideas for future products’.
An avid Wrexham FC fan, Lee also loves to play 5 a side. He is a keen world traveller and is looking forward to planning his next big trip.
We are excited to have Lee and Michael joining us in these new roles, and know they can’t wait to get stuck in!
