Sustainable Decking with FSC® and PEFC® Certification
Here at ecodek® we are proud to announce that on the 10th October 2013 an official audit was carried out by the Forest Stewardship Council® and the PEFC® Programme for the Endorsement of Forest Certification and we passed with flying colours.
The FSC and PEFC are independent organisations that promote the responsible use and management of the world’s forests and materials. FSC and PEFC labels provide credible proof to the customer that a company is also committed to this cause and does not source or sell its material through non-FSC or PEFC approved means.
The supply of ecodek® is handled through a Chain of Custody process which is constantly monitored at every step to make sure that the whole process is FSC and PEFC approved. The end result gives us the right to proudly state that “This product has been made with timber from well-managed forests and we can prove it.”
There are a number of reasons why ecodek® managed to pass the audit. Perhaps the most important of these reasons is that the product itself is fully recyclable, meaning that any returned materials are used to make new product. We also only use Beech hardwood fibres when building our composite decking as we believe that it has the best aesthetics and properties available.
We at ecodek® believe in producing sustainable decking, and are proud to be FSC and PEFC approved and fully support both organisations in their beliefs and endeavours.
