Ecodek and Learning at Work Week
Learning at Work Week takes place between the 14th -20th May. The scheme, co-ordinated by the Campaign for Learning since 1999, has the primary goal shining a spotlight the benefits of learning and development at work.
Here at Ecodek we have a comprehensive Staff Training program that includes everyone within the business. Every new member of staff has a four-hour induction that covers Health & Safety, ISO, FSC®, company policy and other relevant information. In addition to this there are additional Manual Handling and Fire (Warden) training courses, both four-hour long courses and split between classroom and practical practice with certification awarded at the end. As the classes are mostly participant led with them doing most of the tasks in an easy-going style, the learning is made very fun and accessible.
In addition to these courses, the company has also signed up all staff to the Litmos Heroes scheme of learning. Many online based courses are available that cover all elements of the working environment. The courses are tailored to each department and all relevant aspects of work are covered. Alongside these sit other topics, which cover Mental health, Wellbeing, Coaching skills, Diversity in the workplace etc.
All these side courses are taken by every member of staff to help provide an understanding and accessible work environment. We even have access to a sign language interpreter to assist a member of staff enable him to access the courses and learn along side the rest of us!
