Delivery and Own Collections – Some of the questions and why we ask them.
As the summer fades away and those glorious sunny days are but a memory, work ploughs on both here at Ecodek and for our customers. The landscapers, builders, commercial buyers, architects and many others in between – all getting their projects off the ground and into the final stages of installation.
One of the great cornerstones of the Ecodek ethos, apart from the fabulous products themselves, is a solid customer service base. Our aim is always to ensure our customers, no matter where or who they are, are assisted in the process of getting projects completed, whether specification for a huge London redevelopment or a landscaper working on the perfect garden transformation for their customer.
We go to great lengths to ensure that relevant documents and information are provided throughout the process of initial enquiry to final order confirmation, and none more so than when arranging customers’ deliveries or own collection arrangements.
ecodek® is delivered not just across the British Isles, but also internationally, so we have certain policies in place to ensure that this is done in the most timely and economically viable manner. You can find more information on the delivery process in this information sheet.
To avoid contravening the Road Traffic Act, we updated our transport policies earlier this year to only allowing own collections in commercial vehicles – you can view our information sheet on this policy here.
This policy was updated to ensure they Health and Safely of Ecodek staff, our customers and other road users was in no way threatened. The relevant section is as follows
‘Road Traffic Act 1988 section 40A, a person is guilty of an offence if they use, or permit another to use, a motor vehicle or trailer on a road when the weight, position or distribution of its load, or the manner in which it is secured, is such that the use of the motor vehicle or trailer presents a danger of injury to any person’.
Transporting long, flexible lengths of building materials cannot be taken lightly, and in the past we have seen loads shed across both local and national roads when own collections have not been adequately dealt with.
Of course, any doubt about own collection can be avoided by arranging your delivery with our Sales Team, who will find the best and most suitable solution using national pallet networks and contracted hauliers.
Should you have any queries about delivery or own collection, please do not hesitate to contact our Transport Team on firstname.lastname@example.org
