Ecodek exhibit at Materials for Architecture
This week some of the team at Ecodek have been in London exhibiting at the Materials for Architecture show.
The show is the brainchild of the Architects Datafile, a magazine that has been in publication for over 20 years, and primarily aimed at the Architect and Specification market.
Speaking the Anthony Parker of ADF (Architects Datafile), he explained that the whole ethos of the event is designed to showcase the creative and innovate manner in which different materials are being used in the ‘architectural environment’ There is clear and tangible interest in materials so and the science and technology behind them, which in turn, furnishes architects with the knowledge required to make better, more informed specification decisions.
Of course this fits perfectly with our presence in that the specification field, with ecodek (R) being specified on 1000s of balconies and terraces across the major development sites across London.
The show, in it’s second year, is held at the ILEC Centre in Earl’s Court, and attracts a great many visitors over the two days, offering conference and CPD opportunities, plus an evening reception that features presentations on the latest material developments from researchers and engaging talks from Manser Medal winners.
We have had the opportunity to display our materials along with 34 other exhibitors, whose materials covered everything from innovative fabrics (including some using mushrooms as a base) to innovation in concrete, ceramics, thermal membranes etc.
We found the show a very interesting one, the range of topics covered by the presentations was well varied and the atmosphere was upbeat and buzzing.
You will also find us at the London Landscape Show in September and the Surfaces and Materials show, part of UK Construction Week, in October.
