Ecodek are pleased to announce the results of recent ongoing Fire Performance testing at Exova Warringtonfire to BS EN 13501-1 2007 – Classification of Reaction to Fire Performance.
This saw the testing of Ecodek AT 21mm Decking Boards to two fire test standards :
BS EN ISO 11925-2 : 2010 – Ignitability of Building Products subject to direct impingement of flame
BS EN ISO 9239-1 : 2010 – Fire Tests for Determination of Burning Behaviour of Floor Coverings
Please find below the two Exova Warringtonfire Test Reports which show that Ecodek AT decking performs particularly well in the following key areas of fire product performance :
Smoke : BS EN ISO 9239-1 2010 – requires a maximum smoke production of 750% min.; whereas Ecodek performs with just 148% min.
Flame & Debris : BS EN ISO 11925-2 2010 – Ecodek AT decking boards DID NOT even ignite on application of a direct flame to the Surface; with a ZERO EXTENT of flame rate, and NO Flaming Debris or Glowing
These reports are now available (below); along with further information relating to Fire Product Performance.
Ecodek are now the ONLY UK manufacturer of Wood Polymer Composite Decking to have products tested to these BS EN ISO 9239-1 and 11925-2 standards; and as such we feel that our product performance sets us aside as the UK leading manufacturer and supplier of Wood Composite Decking products.
We trust that these new reports for Ecodek from Exova Warringtonfire – the UK’s leading test house for building product fire performance testing, will allay any concerns regarding the ongoing use of Wood Polymer Composite Decking Products in the UK Construction Industry – in particular around their use in High-rise Balconies, Roof Terraces and Gardens.
