ecodek Factory Shutdown
In another 2 weeks’ time it’s our annual factory shutdown.
It’s been a busy couple of weeks leading up to the shutdown and both of the Production and Transport teams are really looking forward to a well-deserved break, some are spending time at home, catching up on DIY, having days out, whilst others are jetting off to catch some well-deserved sun!
Production Operatives Chris Roberts and Mark Lawrence are counting down and are very much in the holiday spirit. They were happy to pose for this week’s featured image along with Alex Collins, Technical Director who couldn’t wait to try on the pink sunglasses!
The shutdown will officially begin on Monday 31st July until Friday 4th August. During this time production will be halted and orders will not be dispatched. If you have recently placed an order this may be given a longer lead time than usual. The main reason for having the shutdown is that as we run three shifts and it’s the only way to ensure that everyone gets a holiday.
Please note though this doesn’t apply to some of the ecodek® team, as they will be still working through the shutdown period including our Sales and Accounts departments to deal with any enquiries that you may have. Quotes and orders will still be placed and scheduled for delivery after the factory shutdown.
Our Maintenance team at ecodek® towers are all still working as well and are usually at their busiest at this time, dealing with essential plant maintenance and high level cleaning which cannot be undertaken during normal working towers. A couple of contractors are also planned in to come in over the shutdown period in order to carry out annual testing and inspections.
We would like to wish the team a great break.
In other news, Jeff Angove (co-founder of ecodek®) has recently left his full-time role as Finance Director after his long-standing efforts within the Vannplastic/ecodek® business.
Jeff is still going to be involved with the ecodek® business as a part-time Advisor providing ongoing support for the ecodek® management team, and assisting in month-end activities.
In addition, Jeff will act as the ecodek® Sales Agent/Distributor for the Channel Islands.
As a parting gift we bought Jeff a present which will come in handy for chilling out in his back garden, an outdoor garden hammock.
The hammock was the talk of ecodek® towers! Some members of the team kindly assembled the hammock and Jeff was delighted to be able to try it out along with a few other members of the Accounts and Sales team.
Once climbing in Jeff held on to the sides and soon got used to lying in it after a couple of attempts. You can imagine him at home, perhaps maybe reading a book, indulging in a pina colada or two.
Don’t forget that some of us are still here in the Sales and Accounts departments next week, please contact us on 01978 667 840
