Bronze Medal for the HTA at RHS Chelsea Flower Show!

Two weeks ago our blog covered Ecodek’s involvement with the Horticultural Trade Association (HTA) at RHS Chelsea Flower Show, with the supply of ecodek Heritage in Brecon Shale and Highland Basalt.

In a fantastic update, we are thrilled to confirm that the HTA show garden won an RHS Bronze medal!

Adam Taylor, HTA President had this to say when making the announcement;

‘On behalf of the HTA, I would like to thank you for your contribution to ‘The Great Escape’ the HTA’s industry exhibit at RHS Chelsea Flower Show 2018. Exhibitors in the Discovery Zone of the Great Pavilion were judged on educating show visitors about a horticultural subject/research and we are delighted to have won an RHS Bronze Medal.

Over the course of the show we were inundated with visitors enquiring about the different plants, products and structures from the garden. We had produced a leaflet with each company’s logo and website address which made it possible for visitors to reference the company who had contributed, and we hope you will benefit as a result of your investment.

On the Wednesday, our designer, horticulturalist and broadcaster Chris Collins, was interviewed by Angelica Bell for the BBC coverage of the flower show where they spoke about family gardening. To watch the short segment, watch on the BBC iPlayer before 12th June from 33 minutes of this episode. www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/b0b4d098/rhs-chelsea-flower-show-2018-episode-7

Built by JWL Landscapes, the exhibit highlighted the benefits of being outside and different ways to enjoy your garden – for relaxing, growing, playing and engaging with nature and we displayed supporting information about the benefits that these bring. The exhibit showed the real benefits that gardening can bring from an educational, health and wellbeing perspective.

On the final day of the flower show there is a plant sell off in the floral marquee. With plants you donated, we were able to raise over £200 for Greenfingers.  Thank you for your support.’

Our congratulations to Chris Collins, JWL Landscapes and the team from the HTA.
